Recently, our school received the Ministry of Housing and Construction Higher Education Urban and Rural Planning Professional Assessment Committee notice, after the evaluation committee plenary discussion and vote, undergraduate (five-years) and postgraduate professional education of urban planning in our school through professional education assessment, from May 2019 to May 2023. Eligibility is valid for 4 years.

From May 7 to 10, 2019, experts from the Ministry of Housing and Construction's Professional Education Assessment and Examination Group for Higher Education Urban Planning conducted a field examination of the professional education of undergraduate and master's students in Urban Planning. The inspection team listened carefully to the report of the undergraduate and master's degree in Urban Planning of the School of Architecture and Urban Planning, examined the professional school environment and conditions, examined the professional school environment and conditions, reviewed the teaching files and student assignments, examination papers, observed the teaching of professional courses, and held the fifth symposium of teachers, undergraduate students, representatives of past graduates and employers.

The examination team adequate affirmed the teaching management, the quality, experience and characteristics of the undergraduate and master's degree in Urban Planning, and also put forward constructive and valuable opinions on the problems existing in running the school.

Guangzhou University's undergraduate education in Urban Planning was first passed by the Ministry of Housing and Construction in 2011, this is the third time to receive professional education assessment. The master's degree in Urban Planning of Guangzhou University is the first time to receive professional education assessment. It is reported that the Urban Planning major of Guangzhou University is the 28th to get the assessment through the professional in the country more than 500 Urban Planning majors.
