On April 23, 2019, the National Park Research Center of Guangzhou University held a listing ceremony for the research center in Room 519, Engineering Experiment South Building.         The National Park Research Center of Guangzhou University has 4 research laboratories, and has 19 scientific researchers, including 4 senior titles and 9 deputy senior titles. Research Center focuses on the theory and practice of the system of natural protection, which is mainly based on national parks. The main research topics include: National Park Planning and Design Theory and Practice, National Park Ecological Restoration and Design, Biological Resources Survey and Conservation, National Park Infrastructure and Supporting Facilities Planning, National Park Nature Education Theory and Practice, National Park Management and Regulations, etc.

Guangzhou University National Park Research Center actively participates in government decision-making and consultation, and strives to enhance scientific research innovation and service to the social level, in the field of national park research has a high academic and social influence. In the past three years, it has chaired 47 scientific research projects at various levels and various types, with a research funding of 12.585 million yuan, published more than 50 papers and 3 monographs; Presided over and completed "Research on the Theory and Development Strategy of Guangdong National Park Construction", "Basic Conditions of Guangdong National Park", "Overall Planning of North Guangdong Special Ecological Reserve", "Research on the System and Mechanism of North Guangdong Special Ecological Reserve", The National Provincial Park-based Nature Reserve System Pilot Provincial Program ”and other achievements; Presided over the preparation of 2 local standards; And it presided over the completion of 37 planning and design projects, including the "General Plan for Nanling National Nature Reserve in Guangdong" and the "General Plan for Nankun Mountain National Forest Park in Guangdong". According to expert review or acceptance conclusions, the above-mentioned main achievements have reached the domestic advanced level, and they are at the leading domestic level in terms of theoretical models of national park functions and functional partition based on national conditions of China.

The research center will take the opportunity to build a high-level university, based on the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Guangdong Province, and contribute to exploring the construction of a national park system with Chinese characteristics.
